Sustainable sizeable car for 1 to 3 passengers: i-Change
This problem: on holiday with the family in your SUV, to work with the same large car. Sustainable solution is not: two cars, one large and one small. Sustainable solution is not: complete year driving in your one large half-empty energy gurgling car. Sustainable solution is 1 car which can be large and small.Concept car designer Frank M. Rinderknecht presents a design with the Obama-eske name iChange in March 2009 with its company Rinspeed in Geneva.
It is a 1 to 3 person car, intended for the car industry to think hereafter once further. The carosserie is of a lightweight material, it is an electric car which emits no emission at driving. The electricity must of course be greenn to have a favourable impact on the environnement.
The trick of the car is the bud which ensures that from the back of the car a compartment slights op or down. The rump in the car lies sunk so that we have a nice aerodynamic less energy consuming single person sportscar. If the rump has come up its possible to have two extra passengers. No other car necessary therefore.
Rinderknecht: 'Thinking about variability and the constantly changing energy demand, we have created an extremely flexible vehicle. The result is a zero-emission car featuring both extremely low weight and aerodynamic drag, thus further reducing the power consumption.'
